Savings Others for Archie (SOFA)
Bank Five Nine donated $2,500 to Saving Others for Archie (SOFA) Inc. for their 10th Anniversary Celebration and Jump for Archie. The annual Jump for Archie will take place at City Beach Park (314 W. Wisconsin Ave., Oconomowoc). Members of the public are invited to an evening of live music, food, and fun that also helps fights the opioid crisis and mental health stigma. Activities begin at 5pm on Saturday, May 11.
SOFA raises awareness about the importance of positive mental health and substance misuse prevention.
“We are so grateful to Bank Five Nine and their lasting support of SOFA’S Jump for Archie, Jump for Life Awareness Event! Their donation helps us continue to provide scholarships to numerous individuals who have recently completed an intensive substance use disorder treatment program lasting between 30 to 90 days in Wisconsin. With generous sponsorships like Bank Five Nine’s, we have provided scholarships for sober living and step-down care to assist with their housing costs, and most importantly, we offer them HOPE,” said Lauri Badura, Co-Founder SOFA-Saving Others for Archie. May 15, 2024, will mark 10 years since losing her son Archie, age 19, to an accidental overdose laced with fentanyl.
This free, unique event will feature group awareness jumps into Lac La Belle, a memorial vigil and mental health, wellness, and recovery resources. Enjoy Rosati’s Pizza, health resource tables and Guest Speakers featuring Glenn Derby, former Green Bay Packer, Paul Farrow, Waukesha County Executive and Augie & Lauri Badura who will talk about SOFA’s impact and highlight the SOFA award recipients.
“Jump for Archie helps bring awareness to important issues, while also bringing the community together,” said Waukesha County Executive Paul Farrow. “Substance use disorder affects the entire community, and it’s important for people to understand help and resources are available.”
