The YMCA at Pabst Farms has installed new vending machines that require the user to swipe a card to purchase snacks. Traditional debit cards are one way to pay for these items, but kids that aren’t yet teenagers probably don’t have their own checking accounts – and you probably don’t want to give them a debit card tied to your account!

Easy fix? A travel card from Bank Five Nine. A travel card is recognized by these machines as a debit card, but functions more like a traditional pre-paid card. As the parent, you control how much is loaded onto the card, and you are able to reload the card as needed. Your child is then able to purchase the snacks they crave after school or before practice.
